annually. Stipends for the 2009/2010 academic year are $25,000.

Minority Program
The University has a Comprehensive Minority Faculty and Student Development Program, which is designed to increase minority student enrollment in academic programs. Several minority graduate fellowships are available which provide a generous stipend and cover expenses for tuition and fees.

Training Grants
Several training grants from the National Institutes of Health provide financial support for Ph.D. students in specified areas of research. Highly qualified students are encouraged to apply for individual fellowships available from several funding agencies (Link to page 34 funding opportunities). The primary mentor and other faculty members help students apply for positions on training grants as well as outside funding opportunities.
